GORULI MTSVANE 2019

Along with Chinuri, this is another leading variety of white wine grapes in Kartli. It is mainly spread in Shida Kartli, but is also found in large amounts in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. This sort is used to produce a fine white classic wine, however, recently it is often fully aged on chacha, in qvevri. Goruli Mtsvane is another best variety for sparkling wine.

Best places - Ateni, Okami, Mukhrani, Lamiskana, Bitsmendi, Jigaura, Tezi, Mejvriskhevi, Khidistavi, Dzalisi.

Combination with meals:

This wine is also aged on chacha, however, unlike Chinuri, it is stronger. Therefore, it is recommended to combine it with boiled poultry and meat salads.

Method: Traditional Georgian qvevri wine, aged for 6 months on chacha

Location: Kartli, Mtskheta municipality, village of Dzalisi

Variety: 100% Goruli Mtsvane

Alcohol: 13,5%

Color: golden-amber

Bouquet: tones of yellow and exotic fruits, with the scents of apricots, melon, and dried apples. The wine has also other exotic nuances.

Taste: pleasant, tannin-rich taste. This is a very elegant traditional wine.

Serving temperature: 11–13°

Awards: Georgian Wine Guild 2021 - Gold Medal
